Train the Trainers Clinic Application

We are now accepting applications for riders/trainers who would like to be considered for participation in the October Train the Trainers clinic with Tiago Ernesto. This is an application-based opportunity, and submission of an application does not guarantee selection as a rider in the clinic.

For this first clinic, we are intentionally seeking a thoughtful range of applicants rather than only the most advanced or highest-profile riders and trainers. Our goal is to build a group that reflects different backgrounds, experience levels, teaching situations, and current challenges so this first program offers a meaningful sampling of what Train the Trainers is intended to be.

Applicants should understand that this is meant to be an educational experience not only for the selected riders/trainers, but also for their students, auditors, mentors, and the wider Working Equitation community. Tiago and the TTT Master Educational Panel Mentors may contact applicants for follow-up discussion or clarification as part of the evaluation process.

Application windows and fee

Applications will open in phases:

Founding Charter Members may apply July 1–15.
All other WEFL members may apply July 16–31.
Applications will open to the nonmembers August 1–31, space permitting. Member applicants receive priority, and we cannot guarantee spots will remain available.

The application fee is $50 for WEFL members and $100 for non-members. If an applicant is selected to ride in the clinic, that application fee will be applied toward their clinic cost. If an applicant is not selected, the fee may be applied toward attending as an auditor or held as a credit for a future WEFL event.

General Auditor seats are available for the Teaching Working Equitation clinic and can be reserved directly — no application needed.

If selected

If chosen to participate as a rider, the clinic fee will be $490 for members and $575 for non-members.

This includes:

Friday, October 2nd special meet-and-greet with Tiago
One ride on Saturday
Dinner on Saturday evening with Tiago and VIP
One ride on Sunday

Personal Accomodations and stabling are not included in the clinic fee. More information will be availabe as the date approaches.

We will also be seeking sponsorship support for the clinics, and this event may be an especially good opportunity for an individual or business sponsor.

What to submit

As part of the application, applicants will be asked to provide:

Contact information
A short bio
A simple resume outlining relevant riding, training, teaching, coaching, or other professional experience
A statement describing what they hope to achieve through this clinic
A short explanation of their current challenges or areas where they most want guidance
Any suggestions they have to help make this a valuable educational experience for themselves, their students, and all participants
One video of themselves riding
One video of themselves teaching something specific

Selection notes

Applications will be reviewed with an eye toward creating a strong and useful educational group, not simply selecting the most accomplished applicants on paper. We are especially interested in assembling participants whose combined experience, perspectives, strengths, and challenges will help demonstrate the broader purpose of the Train the Trainers program.

Application acknowledgments and policies

Media and promotional use

As part of this clinic, photos and video may be captured by WEFL and its approved media team for educational, promotional, archival, and marketing purposes.

Selected participants may also receive access to certain event photos or video clips for their own promotional use. However, no specific media package, quantity of images, amount of footage, format, or delivery timeline is promised or guaranteed.

For many participants, this may be a valuable added benefit of the program, as professionally captured media may support their own teaching, training, and business visibility.

Application acknowledgment and liability notice

By submitting this application, I understand that equine activities involve inherent risks that may result in property damage, serious injury, illness, or death.

I understand that submission of this application does not guarantee selection, and that if I am selected to participate, I may be required to sign additional event documents, waivers, releases, and policy acknowledgments before participation is confirmed.

I understand that such documents may include release and waiver language in favor of Working Equitation Florida, LLC, Elite Horse Academy Tiago Ernesto, Ernesto Photography, Tiago Ernesto, the event hosts, facility owners, property owners, sponsors, officials, clinicians, mentors, staff, volunteers, contractors, agents, representatives, affiliated entities, and related personnel connected with the clinic.

I understand that if selected, I may also be required to provide a current negative Coggins and any health certificate or other horse health documentation required by the host facility or applicable rules.

I understand that my application fee is $50 if I am a WEFL member and $100 if I am a non-member, and that this fee will be applied toward my rider fee if selected. If I am not selected as a rider, I understand the fee may be applied toward auditor attendance or held as a credit for a future WEFL event, according to event policy.

Media release acknowledgment

I understand and agree that Working Equitation Florida, LLC, its representatives, contractors, media personnel, partners, and assigns may photograph, film, record, edit, reproduce, publish, distribute, and otherwise use my name, image, likeness, voice, biographical information, riding footage, teaching footage, and other event-related media in any format or medium for lawful educational, promotional, editorial, archival, and marketing purposes.

I understand that WEFL may allow selected participants to access or reuse certain event media for their own promotional or professional purposes, but no specific media package or deliverable is guaranteed.

I confirm that I have the right to submit the riding and teaching videos included with this application for review.
