Teaching Working Equitation – Train the Trainers Kickoff Clinic
Teaching Working Equitation with Tiago Ernesto
October 3–4, 2026 • Jacksonville Equestrian Center
What makes an exercise useful? How do you recognize what a horse and rider need next? And how do you turn that understanding into clearer, more effective teaching?
Join Tiago Ernesto for two days devoted to the how and why of Working Equitation. Whether you teach, train, compete or simply want to become a more thoughtful rider, this clinic is an opportunity to look beyond the finished performance and understand the work that gets you there.
Interactive Auditor registration closes September 28. Riding spots are filled, but you can still join the learning from the ground.
More than watching a riding lesson
As Tiago works with small groups of horses and riders, you’ll follow the teaching process in real time: identifying priorities, choosing exercises, making adjustments and recognizing progress. Different horses and riders bring different challenges, giving everyone an opportunity to learn from more than their own experience.
The focus is practical understanding you can take home to your next ride or lesson. You don’t need to bring a horse, be an instructor or commit to a longer program to attend.
Choose your experience
Interactive Auditor | Two days
Be part of the conversation, not just an observer. Interactive Auditors participate in the lessons from the ground, with reserved ringside access and opportunities to ask questions and discuss what’s happening as Tiago teaches.
This experience is capped at 25 participants to keep the interaction meaningful. Your ticket includes both days and lunch each day.
General Auditor | One day or the full weekend
Spend a day or the weekend watching Tiago work with a range of horses and riders. Follow the exercises, listen to the instruction and take home ideas for your own riding and training.
Choose Saturday, Sunday or the two-day ticket. Lunch is included for the day or days purchased.
How the days will flow
Morning and afternoon small-group sessions will give you time to follow each horse-and-rider combination’s work, with breaks between groups and a midday lunch break. Explanation and discussion will be woven into the teaching rather than saved entirely for the end.
Across the weekend, you’ll have the opportunity to see how the work develops and how Tiago adapts his approach. Final session times and rider groups will be shared before the clinic.
Make plans to join us
Come with your barn friends, bring your questions and spend the weekend learning alongside others who care about good horsemanship and better teaching.
Book your Interactive Auditor ticket by September 28. General Auditor tickets are also available below for Saturday, Sunday or the full weekend. WEFL members receive 20% off auditor tickets with their member discount code at checkout.
Riding places are filled; backup rider applications remain open through September 27. A backup application does not guarantee a riding place.
