WEFL Website Terms and Conditions Draft

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the WEFL website, submitting a form, creating an account, purchasing or renewing membership, requesting that an event be listed, registering for a program, or otherwise interacting with WEFL online, a user agrees to these Terms and Conditions and to any policies referenced on the website.

If a user does not agree with these Terms and Conditions, that user should not use the website or rely on any website features, listings, or services.

2. WEFL's Role

WEFL exists to support the growth of Working Equitation through community building, education, communication, visibility, and opportunity. The website is intended to help connect riders, professionals, barns, organizers, members, sponsors, and the public with information and resources related to Working Equitation.

WEFL's role includes promoting awareness, sharing opportunities, supporting recognized events, helping members and organizers connect, and offering information believed to be useful to the community.

WEFL's role does not include guaranteeing the quality, safety, legality, fairness, availability, scheduling, insurance coverage, eligibility, pricing, discounts, entry acceptance, results accuracy, or performance of any third-party person, service, facility, clinic, show, sponsor, vendor, official, or event.

3. Informational Nature of the Website

All website content is provided for general informational and community-use purposes only. While WEFL may try to keep information current and helpful, the website and its content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

WEFL does not guarantee that the website will be uninterrupted, error-free, complete, current, secure, or free of technical issues, harmful code, omissions, or inaccuracies. Information may change without notice.

Users are responsible for confirming important details directly with the applicable organizer, venue, official, service provider, sponsor, or other responsible third party before relying on any listing or making decisions based on website content.

4. Calendar Listings and Event Information

WEFL may, in its discretion, publish or decline to publish Working Equitation-related events, clinics, schooling shows, licensed shows, educational opportunities, partner listings, and other related activities on its website calendar or related pages.

A listing on the WEFL calendar or elsewhere on the website does not by itself mean that WEFL sponsors, approves, sanctions, insures, endorses, manages, verifies, or guarantees the listed event.

Unless an event is specifically identified by WEFL as a WEFL-recognized, WEFL-sponsored, WEFL-partner, or otherwise officially designated event, users should assume that the listing is informational only.

WEFL member discounts, preferred entry treatment, points eligibility, awards eligibility, and other WEFL-specific benefits apply only where expressly stated by WEFL or by an authorized organizer participating in an approved WEFL program. A calendar listing alone does not create or promise any member benefit.

WEFL reserves the right to edit, categorize, label, decline, remove, or correct event listings at any time.

5. Membership and Benefits

Membership in WEFL may include access to designated benefits, opportunities, communications, discounts, directories, points programs, educational offerings, or other services as described by WEFL from time to time.

All membership benefits are subject to availability, eligibility rules, deadlines, participating organizers, published policies, and change without notice. Membership does not guarantee acceptance into any event, access to any barn or trainer, discounted pricing at every event, availability of any program, qualification for awards, or receipt of any specific opportunity.

Member benefits connected to events, including but not limited to discounts, early access, preferred treatment, points, awards, or recognition, apply only when clearly stated and only under the conditions set by WEFL and the applicable organizer.

WEFL may suspend, deny, limit, revoke, or adjust membership benefits where necessary to protect the organization, enforce policies, address misuse, correct errors, or respond to nonpayment, misconduct, misrepresentation, safety concerns, or other legitimate organizational reasons.

6. Recognized, Sponsored, and Partner Events

WEFL may create programs for recognized shows, sponsored events, barn partners, show partners, approved vendors, educational partners, or similar categories.

Any such designation is based on WEFL's internal criteria and may be granted, withheld, changed, or removed at WEFL's discretion.

Even where an event or organizer is recognized or promoted by WEFL, the organizer remains responsible for its own operations, contracts, rules, finances, staffing, insurance, facilities, emergency planning, legal compliance, and event administration unless WEFL expressly agrees otherwise in writing.

Website content, articles, directories, educational materials, member communications, clinic information, event descriptions, safety tips, sponsor information, and related content are provided for general informational purposes only.

Nothing on the WEFL website is intended to serve as legal, insurance, veterinary, medical, tax, accounting, coaching, training, or other professional advice, and it should not be relied upon as a substitute for consulting qualified professionals.

The WEFL website may contain links to third-party websites, event platforms, payment processors, software providers, social media channels, sponsor pages, organizers, barns, vendors, or service providers.

WEFL does not control and is not responsible for third-party websites, policies, payment systems, software functionality, accessibility, content, business practices, contracts, data handling, or services. Accessing or using third-party systems is done at the user's own risk and subject to that third party's own terms and policies.

9. Event Registration, Payments, and Transactions

WEFL may offer website features that allow users to register interest, submit applications, purchase memberships, make donations, reserve spots, submit event requests, or access external registration systems.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, WEFL is not the contracting party for third-party events, barns, clinics, or competitions listed on the website. Fees paid to third-party organizers are governed by that organizer's own rules, refund policy, cancellation terms, and business practices.

If WEFL directly collects payment for a WEFL membership, program, clinic, sponsorship, or service, the applicable listing, form, invoice, or checkout page may include additional terms regarding refunds, deadlines, transfers, or cancellations.

10. Accuracy of Submitted Information

Any person submitting information to WEFL, including event requests, membership details, directory profiles, horse and rider information, show results, applications, media, or promotional materials, is responsible for ensuring that the information is accurate, current, complete, and not misleading.

By submitting content or information to WEFL, the submitting party represents that they have the right to submit it and that its publication or use by WEFL will not violate the rights of any third party.

11. Photos, Media, and Content License

If a user, member, organizer, barn partner, sponsor, volunteer, or other contributor submits photos, videos, logos, testimonials, event descriptions, social media content, promotional copy, or similar materials to WEFL, that party grants WEFL a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to use, reproduce, publish, display, adapt, resize, and distribute that material for WEFL's organizational, educational, promotional, archival, and marketing purposes, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

The submitting party remains responsible for obtaining any permissions, releases, or consents required for the material, including permissions related to photographers, minors, participants, venues, trademarks, and copyright.

WEFL may remove or decline submitted content at any time.

12. User Conduct

Users may not use the website in a way that is unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, defamatory, discriminatory, threatening, harmful, deceptive, invasive of privacy, or disruptive to WEFL or other users.

Users may not submit false information, impersonate another person or organization, interfere with website functionality, attempt unauthorized access, upload malicious code, scrape restricted data, misuse member directories, or use the website for spam or unauthorized commercial solicitation.

WEFL may restrict or terminate access to the website, membership features, directory access, submission privileges, or other services when it reasonably believes a user has violated these Terms or acted in a manner inconsistent with WEFL's mission, safety standards, or community expectations.

13. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, the WEFL name, logos, branding, text, graphics, website design, policies, downloads, and original website content are owned by or used with permission by WEFL and may not be copied, republished, distributed, modified, or used for commercial purposes without prior written permission.

Limited personal and noncommercial use of publicly available website material is permitted so long as that use does not imply WEFL endorsement, does not alter the material in a misleading way, and preserves any applicable notices.

14. Directory and Contact Information

If WEFL offers a member, professional, barn, sponsor, or partner directory, that directory is provided as a community resource.

WEFL does not guarantee the current accuracy, qualifications, availability, licensing, insurance, safety practices, business quality, or suitability of any listed person or organization. Inclusion in a directory does not constitute endorsement or recommendation.

Directory information may not be harvested, copied in bulk, sold, or used for spam, solicitation, or unrelated commercial purposes.

15. Assumption of Risk and Equestrian Activities

Equestrian activities involve inherent risks, including risks of serious injury, death, and property damage. Website content and event listings may involve riding, handling horses, travel, facility use, training, competition, clinics, and related activities.

Each participant is solely responsible for evaluating the risks of any activity, selecting qualified professionals, confirming insurance and safety procedures, and deciding whether participation is appropriate.

WEFL is not responsible for injuries, losses, damages, disputes, or claims arising from participation in any activity, event, clinic, show, lesson, program, or service that is promoted, described, or listed on the website, except to the limited extent required by law and expressly assumed in writing.

16. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the website and all content, features, listings, directories, communications, downloads, and services made available through the website are provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

This includes, without limitation, any implied warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, availability, or reliability.

17. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, WEFL and its directors, officers, volunteers, committee members, contractors, sponsors, affiliates, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, punitive, or similar damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, opportunity, data, goodwill, or business interruption arising out of or related to use of the website or reliance on website content.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, any claim arising out of website use, membership use, calendar listings, directory use, event information, or related services shall be limited to the amount, if any, actually paid by the user directly to WEFL for the specific website-related service giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to waive rights or obligations that cannot legally be waived or limited.

18. Indemnification

A user agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless WEFL and its directors, officers, volunteers, committee members, contractors, affiliates, and agents from and against claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of that user's misuse of the website, violation of these Terms, submitted content, unlawful conduct, or infringement of another party's rights.

19. Privacy and Data

Use of the website may also be subject to WEFL's Privacy Policy and any payment, registration, membership, or event-specific policies posted on the website.

Users should review those policies separately when available.

20. Changes to the Website or Terms

WEFL may modify the website, calendar, directory, membership offerings, benefits, labels, programs, features, or these Terms and Conditions at any time.

Updated terms become effective when posted unless a different effective date is stated. Continued use of the website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

21. Governing Law and Venue

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of the state in which WEFL is organized or principally operates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Any dispute relating to the website or these Terms shall be brought in the appropriate state or federal court located in that state, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

22. Contact
